Show Information
- This show is officially sanctioned by the American Dairy Goat Association. Its rules shall govern. The Junior Doe and Senior Doe shows are separately sanctioned. Animals registered or recorded by ADGA, AGS or CGS are welcome.
- Senior Does and Junior Does are sanctioned for Alpine, LaMancha, Nigerian Dwarf, Nubian, Oberhasli, Saanen, Sable, Toggenburg, and Recorded Grades and will be shown in this order, not subject to change.
- Bucks are sanctioned for Alpine, LaMancha, Nigerian Dwarf, Nubian and AOP. They will be shown in this order with ring 2 following ring 1, also not subject to change.
- Entry Fees will be $5.00 per head per show. Pre-entries showing both days will be discounted to $8.00 for both shows. Animals, (not additions or substitutions) entered at the show are $7.00 per head per show. Fees need to accompany entries. In case of emergency, with a notice of 48 hours, fees will be returned. MO-KAN highly encourages finished animals to show in the Champion-Challenge Class. The registration paper must have the CH designation on it or you must have a current year Championship award letter from ADGA.
- Substitutions are allowed at check-in, but not ringside within the breed and sanction. (Jr. Alpine Doe for Dry yearling Alpine doe.) There are no fees for the group classes, but the animals must be entered in advance and show in their breed classes.
- Pen Fees. There will be a charge of $6.00 per pen for the weekend. There will be plenty of pens, but you will be charged for all you use. Reserve what you need for your animals and tack. A pen will hold 2 milkers. Pens will be assigned by PAID entry date. Please also note if you want penned with someone or have special needs. See Show Secretary about check-in and pen assignments before unloading.
- The original registration certificate is required for all animals 6 months and over. Stamped duplicates for animals under 6 months of age are accepted. The date for computing age will be the day of check-in, May 20, 2017. These must be presented at time of check-in. No photocopies will be accepted.
- No health papers are required, however animals showing evidence of and open or draining abscess, pinkeye, sore-mouth, ringworm, viral warts or scours not caused by stress will not be allowed in the barn. Decision of the show committee will be final. Out-of-state animals may need a health certificate to cross state lines.
- Animals may arrive any time after 12:00 pm on Friday, May 19, 2017. Animals must be in place by 7:00 am the day they are to be shown.
- All exhibitors are requested to wear white in the show ring.
- Hay, straw and shavings will be available. Please make your arrangements by calling Ralph Adams at 660-287-5623 or 660-287-6848. Unless you bring your own bedding, it needs to be purchased from him because he is the official vender for the MO-KAN Dairy Goat Club. They will also come through the barn several times.
- Showmanship and both Buck shows will be held only on Saturday.
- The Missouri State Fairgrounds are located on the South West side of Sedalia. The SHEEP pavilion is a large open-sided barn with shower facilities. RV Hook-ups are available and will be handed by the state fair personnel. There will be a charge for camper hook-ups, even at the barn.
